Default Putting a car back on the road after being stood 2yr (corsa)

Ive got a little 1.2 corsa that has sat on the drive for around 2yrs and aint been used. It starts first time every time.

Ive been thinking about putting it back on the road for the missus when she passes her test and for me to use as a little run about.

Does anybody have any suggestions about what checks to do before booking it in for an MOT.

Treat it to a full service, inc a full brake strip down with fluid change and it should be fine. Might want to check the tyres havent perished and cracked too.

depending on the age of the car I could possibly be tempted to bang it in for test without doing anything to it other than checking lights / wipers etc .
seems a better option than potentially spending a few quid on it & finding it needs a fortune to get it through a test .

Defo agree with this, wish I'd have done this before spending a fortune on a car after not being used for a long time them failed mot and needed way too much to repair.

Strip the shoes in drums on back mate, if its been stood for that long I would be surprised if it passed a brake test, all you need to do is clean them up, but I'd check the wheel cylinders as they are common for leaking, especially if its been stood that long, I'd also change the brake fluid as it will have absorbed water in 2 years (recommended interval is 2years anyway)

Cheers for the help lads, will get the brakes stripped and cleaned up and do the wipers and check all the lights then stick it in for a test see what happens.
