advise on private number plates

right i needs abit of info ive been offerd a plate with the wifes name at a stupidly cheap price

of a mate hes poor but its only got 3 months on a retention certificate ive looking on dvla website for cost info to get it transfered on to her car but its not that clear unless you by there regs so i was wondering for so clever person that knows the costs and what i need to do before i comit to spending pennys on the plate and pounds on the rest

ive read nominees so no ideas but £30 for a plate with DAN is appering to good to miss

It's about £110 to be put on retention iirc, and slightly less to go from car to car... But I am pretty sure I paid nothing for mine last time but that was 08...

Its £80 to take it off retention and transfer to car it £30 a year to renew the retention and £80 to put it on retention and £80 to trensfer to ant car

so it dont cost any extra if its changing names when you transfer it from cert to car

I know it dint cost me and my missis bought me the plate so when I got it it was all in her name and just cost me £80 and I've just transferred it to my vectra to my astra and it just cost £80 joke I know

just found a web site that explains it better that the t%*$ing goverment sites you have to be a nominee £25 takes 12 days before you can get the purchser to assign it to said car £80 what a pain in the seated area still it would cost the wife said £105 id only be paying £30 so id better ask her first really but im going to ring dvla first on monday to conferm it

Just put my p plate on my vec and didnt cost anything cos the fee is included in the retention, not sure about transfering ownership although there is a section on the retention you just have to fill in, local dvla office will do it there and then for you, just had to pay £25 to robbing ba##ard insurance company to change my documents.
