    Default Info Display (??)

Hi all after some help here, owned my early 2005 (pre Facelift) Signum 1.9CDTi 150 for a couple of days before i noticed that the info display (inside the rev counter) appears to be faulty. all i get is a faint orange or red glow. e.g. if a door is open it glows red, and glows orange for about 4 minutes after starting (after a bit of searching on here i think this is due to faulty glow plugs).

    Anyway, can anybody help??

    Cheers
    Chris

Taken the instrument cluster apart and found the reason for the info display not working!!
the previous owner had used a knife to hack the ribbon cable that runs to this display, and also stuffed paper into the hole above the LED for the glow plug!

starting to think that the minor teething problems i'm experiencing with this car are more sinister than that!! think i may have been sold a lemon!!

Looks like it's time for a new instrument cluster, can anyone advise, do i just need to find one with 0-160mph and 0-6000 rpm, or does it have to come from the same model?? seen some on ebay, but they say they are from a 2.2dti.

    Thanks.

if u get one with the same rev range and mph you'll be ok, but try to get one with roughly the same mileage as yours as it will cost about £100 to get them changed to the correct mileage. Also make sure you get the security code for it incase you need to change one of the settings like for AFL, IDS+ etc etc.

I have a set of facelift clocks with roughly that mileage on , but they have had a LED conversion. The facelift clocks differ as they do noy have that small window on the left and some of the symbols are in different places , on a plus side they illuminate when the ignition is switched on , the prefacelift clocks do not do this.

they will fit right in, i tried a facelift set in my preface when i had an airbag light problem without any issues, as stated they are different with different symbols in different places, depends if you want to keep to 'factory' style or go for modding lol, the most common conversion people do on here are blue, so imagine if kman had any to GIVE you it would be blue.

I will need to double check , but 99% sure that the set around that mileage was done in white, the can be converted back to orange too.

Already decided on a blue conversion.
as long as I know that any cluster with the correct MPH &RPM range will fit I'll look on eBay. Think there's a couple with similar mileage. I can even carry out the led conversion before fitting then!!
