Picture request for 6000k HIDs please :-)

It's nearly Xmas and i'll be helping myself to some HIDs.
Can you show me your 6000k?
How blue are they and is 8000k to much?

People will say yes, but I use 8k and never had issues, been pulled, or failed an mot etc. just a tint of blue IMO, possibly a slight loss of brightness but n no blue'r then some of the new Audi & Range Rovers...

Sure someone will be along soon saying there as blue as the sky however

Here are three pics of my 6k first fitted to my other SRI which we still have. I found them too blue for my liking - especially against the side light. I changed the sidelights to whiteer MTEC 501s, but they are practically invisible (you can see them great in photos due to how cameras work - but in reality, rubbish)

I removed the 6k and fitted 4.7k and standard sides. - Much better IMO, and they still look a lot whiter than the standard bulb

they dont look at all blue to me and agree the MTEC bulbs are useless in the day but of a night they give a nice light

i agree 8k is way too blue even purple, i had 6k's for a few years no problems but one of them i had to replace the bllast and then the bulb cracked so i got a new set, i was looking for 5k's but went for 4.3k's they are quite good very white not that yellow u get off hallogens, i would say go for 5k's or 4.3k's 6 r a bit blue and in some eyes may seem a bit tacky.

I have had 4.3K, 6K, 8K and even 10K HiDs.

I had 8's in my previous Vectra and didn't find much difference between these and 10K, I liked them but nowadays you may get a tester not take a shine (pun intended) to them and cause issues at MOT time.

There wasn't much difference and again from 8K to 6K, they still have a fair hint of blue.

I had 4.3K in my previous car and found them to be the best (for me) they are very white, no hint of yellow and gave a great light output, very OEM.

I was followed by a chav mobile lastnight with HIDS, unfortunately I think it was a Vectra? The lights were very, very blue and when he over took me, there appeared to be no light on the road. My standard bulbs were lighting up more then his HIDS.

I also wondered if the Police would have stopped him as you are not allowed to show blue lights on a car.

You are, providing they're static and not flashing/strobing.

Hence why blue LED washer jets aren't illegal.
