    Default Z22YH Powerless and studdering!

    Hi everyone!

    My name is Sam and writing you from snowy Sweden hoping to get some help with my vectra c Z22YH.
    The problem that has accurd is that it has become powerless until I hit approx 3-3500 rpm and below that at low rpms and slow speeds it hesitates, just as its not getting enough fuel, but the thing is that I have noted that the fuel consumption has gone up quite much...even though it's cold as h*ll here


    I replaced the fuel pump last year as I gave up, went in to limp mode.... And the fuel filter and spark plugs has been replaced this week without any changes as well as inspected the air filter, but I'm running out of ideas and knowledge and really need some help, so any ideas of what the problem could be are more than welcome!

    I'm not greatly clued up on the 2.2 Direct engine but when you changed the fuel pump, did you do the fuel pressure regulator at the same time? They're a known weak point and from memory, some of your symptoms seem to fit.

    Yep sounds like the very common fuel pressure reg or the pump

    had this in my old 2.2 direct and it was the regulator ,,,,, the high pressure fuel pump ,,,,,which make of pump did you fit if it was another seimens one that could be at fault but if it was a continental one i'd go with the regulator

    Hi again,
    Well i bought a new regulator, and the problem still remains!
    The fuel pump is a Continental so im hopeing its not the pump again.
    I have also noticed that the engine tempeture has gone up slightly while driving and as the car is running and i shut it off it sounds like the cooling fan is turning of as well, this fan shouldn´t be going due to the outside tempeture here is Sweden at this moment is -6 degress celcius. So could it be that the enging tempeture sensor is failing? Fooling the system to think that engine is cold while its acctualy at the right tempeture?
    Or does anybody else have any suggestions? Im starting too lose hope on finding the issue without exchanging the hole engine!....
