you may have already read about me and alternator, battery issues. anyway. get to the point. my car been at work since monday. last night in work i gave it a 6 hour charge. went back a few hours ago while it was light and attempted the drive back (20 miles of fast A roads). with in minutes,the battery light came on, and i was just thinking, please just get me to ats. anyway. abs light goes, traction light, then the steering all heavy. then wipers extremely slow, and in heavy rain. then revs and speedo js stuck in postion right round the corner from ats. i made it anyway , phew, and he told me dead cell in the battery. was still a few miles from home so js had to bite the bullit n buy a new one £83 round about. anyway, with new battery, the engine light was on, aswell as the battery one. got in my car not long ago and both lights gone now. what should i do ??

Leave it alone now see what happens mate my advice

If the lights have gone dont worry like Paul says keep an eye on it no point wasting money this side of Christmas if you don't need to.

dont you need a reset if you change the battery?... I had engine light on and battery when I faffed with my headlights and the battery was off

When they fitted the battery didn't they check to see if it was charging?

ok, so after puttin the new battery on thursday, car now dead. i took out cover with the aa, and just gotta wait now till 14 days pass, so i can claim on parts and labour (up to 5 claims a year with value of £500 but you have to pay £35 excess on each claim). im gutted but at least will get it sorted, just the wait

yeah mate, i chose my package myself (all options apart from onward travel which basicly covers u in either public transport, hire car ect). any way. on top of the standard 24/7 recovery which includes a tow to a grage if your car cant be fixed at roadside i got - national recovery, take you and up to 7 passengers to any single uk mainland destination if it cant be fixed at roadside - at home, you can do a call out if you break down at home or within 1/4 of a mile from home - parts and garage cover, helps cover the cost of parts and labour if you break down. make up to 5 claims a year (up to £500 with £35 excess). if you need to know anything else just ask, because more than 1 person who i spoke to online and in the call centre didnt have a clue what they were talking about. i even asked if they were new !!!
