    Default Leaking EGR Pipe

    Hi All

It appears I have a leak from what I believe is the EGR Cooler Pipe, it's on the right as you look at the car coming from the manifold and it's corrugated with some kind of sheathing over it and dealer sent me a pic and say it's the egr cooler pipe, which comes complete with the cooler at £100 (trade price).

    Anyone had this issue?

I have mate, before long the pipe it's self will burst with a loud bang (think tyre blowout)

its a bit of a pain in the arse to get to the pipe to change it, I'd let the garage do it, and 100 for the part? Is a bit less than I paid too!

    Hi
Well I can get the part at trade price and I work at a dealers (not Vaux), so I can get it fitted at work. I am now thinking wether I should repair it or take it to MAS and get it blanked, EGR "turned off" and DPF removed, however I need to confirm if this is the pipe that gets blanked, other wise I will wait till I have more funds and just replace this pipe for now.

The best case scenario is for this pipe to get blanked at the manifold. If you want to do that then get the lit mapped out I agree that it's a very good idea! That is the correct pipe that goes to the egr.

Yeah i blanked my Astra at the manifold end, I assumed this would be the same, but I suppose it all depends on how long it's going to last for me to be able to get it to MAS, no point spending £100 on a pipe that effectively won't be in use if i get it all mapped out

I would just blank it now, run around with the eml on until you can get to MAS. My pipe didn't last 100 miles before it burst

Stupid question, loads on ebay. How will it affect my DPF, reading previous posts I think it said not to blank egr if you have DPF, Therefore you blank and remove DPF together??
