Default 206cc oil warning, help please???

    Hi all,

I’ve just borrowed the inlaws 2004 (>06/04) 1.6 206cc for a few days while my car is off the road. Now, this car had some problems, it was leaking oil from the oil filter housing and it had been badly over filled with oil. I’ve changed the oil filter and ‘O’ ring and dropped the oil level to where it should be and that’s now ok, no more leak.

However, when I turn on the ignition it’s flashing usual service distance/warning, but it then still shows the oil over filled warning… I think? It has the row of little squares/zero’s with the oil symbol, but both ‘min’ and ‘max’ are also lit?

Are there any Pug experts out there that can advise please?

As long as all boxes are filled and not dashes it will be fine, also switch the ignition off press and hold the button on the instrument cluster switch the ignition on and it should count from 10-0 then the service light is reset

You should always go by the dipstick level and no by the dash gauge

Sounds right to me, the squares are showing the level is up to the max.
