Default Bonnet catch - Smashed my grill.. now what?

Just shredded my hands to bits & now am at the end of my tether with it.

My bonnet cable seems to have become disconnected at the bonnet side, the release handle/cable is slack.

I've smashed my grill to bits & now am still left unable to get the bonnet open?

What exactly am I supposed to be doing now? I can follow the bar up from the little catch you press once the bonnet cable is pulled (To lift the bonnet) But it does nothing when I push it, & I cant access any further due to the plastic/rubber showd thing.

    Anyone able to help?

    Best regards

I think you have to push the spring lever to get it to make that first pop.

All I can feel/see is a round metal spring facing upward so how would I be able to push it?

With the diesels you have the intercooler rad in the way , best way i have found is when the grill is out the way , get a large flat screw driver and with the blade turned side on put it up against the spring at the back of the slam panel if you push against the spring you should feel it being forced back , now just give the end of the screw driver a good whack with a hammer and it will pop the release mechanism

Yeah i took that plastic bit off that hides that bit, but I guess the diesels are harder to get to. I can barely see the spring, it's a *****, seriously
