Default outside temperature display's "F" on the display after battery change

I had to change my battery as it was faulty, I bought the correct battery from halfords. disconnected n reconnected correctly, take the negative off then possitive n reconnecting possitive then negative.

Everything works fine just like before apart from the outside temperature reading F... I've looked into my handbook and says F means FAULT. Does anyone know what could/ would be the problem? and possible ways of fixing it?

Any help/ advice would be very greatful

Try disconnecting the sensor and reconnecting it.

Pop the bonnet, look down, its right in the middle of the rear of the front bumper.

As you have a facelift you will have to remove the front bumper to get to it

An "F" you say... I think it's the car saying "****, it's cold out here!"..

On a Facelift you can just about reach it from under the passenger side of the car lying on the floor... I've often forgotten to put it back before refitting the bumper.... it is possible, it just unclips from the lower grille.
