Vibration from 3.0 V6 CDTi Vectra

Ok here goes with my problem, it's a 2004 Vectra V6 CDTi, at about 1300-1900 prm in 5th and 6th gear I get vibration that I think is the engine, if it were a petrol I'd say it was misfiring. It does it whether it's from accelerator or on cruise control, sometimes it'll do it in 4th.

Surely it's not struggling to pull at those revs afterall it's a 3.0, it's a V6 and it's a diesel.

It's still under manufacturers warranty for another few months so I want to get it sorted soon!!! Just to add insult to injury the traction control light and power steering warning lights are on to and the indicators don't self cancel now!! Could the problem be electrical??

Get it into the dealers m8. The problems could be related. Tech 2 should show up the faults

I don't tend to drive at less than 2000 rpm anyway

It also sounds like a problem I had in my previous Mondeo TDCI, before the EGR pipe on the turbo went
Moderate engine vibration, followed by PLUMES of black smoke at high revs

I've only had mine 6 weeks, but I've noticed a few quirks...
When cold the acceleration is poor up to 2000rpm
However, once warm the acceleration then improves
As an example, I have compared leaving my local road to go onto the 40mph road, and when warm I can go the entire way in 2nd gear, but when cold I have to drop down to 1st at the give way

I too noticed a vibration at speed and at low revs on Saturday 13 January
I put this down to a weight coming off one of the front wheels
The offside was inspected and a nail was found in it, sadly it can be repaired but it was sealed into place, the balance was slightly out
The nearside was within balance
Ever since it has been fine

In the V6 in 6th you'll be doing 76mph at 2000 revs.

Mine does something similar, sounds like it is missing on a petrol, but I think it is due to the injector on No2 bank that sticks open and closed, i hope. It is due in next Friday so will know then.

do you have a tuning box?

i have a vibro at that kinda revs and ive found it to be the rear tyres miss shaped ......(im a vx tech) and i wouldhave sworn blind it was a missfire but i will say they are haveing problems with number 4 and 6 injector and the head gaskets are becoming a problem .!!

Benny, Haven't got a tuning box but was thinking of getting one once warranty expires.

The indicator stalks aren't self cancelling now!!!! Wondering if all the problems are related and an electrical one???

nah the indicators is the cim is faulty .......nowt to do with engine

How about the trac control light and pas warning light??

same thing .........the pas needs to know when the wheel is turned and the traction needs to know witch way the wheel is going .....same thing as the indicators its called your steering angle sensor all housed in the cim....
