    Default battery type

can any member help me out with which battery i need for my vx life z18xer engine, 07 model
the green dot is present on the battery which i assume is showing good battery .but it as been slowly dying since the cold weather has come.
the hand book is stating 55ah,66,75, 85ah with asterix at the side of them,
would i be ok if i got a 85ah because of the stop starts the car as to do through the day( short runs between stops.) or would it be to much juice going through.any advice would be appreciated thank you, bill.
sorry if this post is in the wrong place. could a moderator please move it is.

As a general rule for many years and a few cars, I've always gone with the most powerful that will fit in the battery tray. I figure I'm better off with a battery that only needs to work at part capacity than one that's always only just coping.

Take the battery off and put it onto a good battery charger overnight, one that has a de-sulphination cycle will restore your battery. You may find you dont need a new battery yet and people often forget that the battery needs servicing as well. Make sure the terminals are clean.

thanks for advice ben50n, phoned the dealers this morning, they told me they would test the battery, and if ******ed replace it with a new one ,£70. batterry 55ah, labour £75 for 1 hour work.+£30 for a new key code card from vx cos i havnt got one for radio /ecu code reader dealer said.
so i went to an auto electricians tested battery,it was total ******ed, replaced with 74ah new batterry +4years warranty, price of battery £90 fitting free , total £108 with vat,
seeing i have not got a key code card for the radio, or ecu, the auto electrician connected jump leads off a 2nd batterry to keep power supplied while he disconnected the battery leads.
all is well now, i had to get it sorted this morning cos the wife uses the car through the day and it would have died on her and i havnt got a battery charger.thanks guys for your early replies cheers bill.

I'm pretty sure that with an '07 model you wouldn't need a radio code even if you removed the battery without using a "keep alive" supply.
