Default vectra cdti problem camshaft sensor

hey guys im new here ! ive recently bought an 05 vectra cdti 150bhp, car is fantastic and the newest of a long line of opels ive owned ! but its showing a fault P0340 of camshaft sensor, i got a new one from opel but still no good, same problem, ive checked wiring to the sensor and getting a good earth and 5v feed and 4.7 v on idle on middle wire? also plugged in a tech 2 and the live feed shows the camshaft as being right, i.e half the rpm, so im wondering is there anything else that would cause this fault to show? could it be ecu? car also is laggy down low an heavy enough on diesel, ive cleaned egr, the manifold was completely clogged but didnt make a difference, still showing camshaft sensor fault! can anyone help me!?

sometimes when you fit a new part you need to have the fault cleared , i had this on a bmw when i fitted the new part the fault was still there . so i disconnected the battery over night and it cleared itself - try that .

I had this on a cdti 120 a few months back, kept showing the fault even after 2 new sensors.turned out to be a broken key way on the crank pulley allowing it to slip and so the timing moved a little. Put a new pulley on and retimed it and all sorted!
As said this was on a 120 but I should imagine it could happen to a 150 as well.I have known about 3 other people to have this also.
Not a nice job to check as the timing belt needs removing in order to get the pulley off.
    Hope this helps?

bump this! today i glue mani flaps open, cleaned egr, cleaned boost valve starts way better hesitation at about 2k is gone, but still laggy untill 2.5k and still throwing code for camshaft sensor, thinking now its either timing off a tooth, or the key way in pulley, does that affect the 150 bhp models ??

Might be worth giving your local dealer a call to see if the 150 engines suffer the same.might use the same pulley
