does a facelift sri steering wheel fit a preface sri?

does a facelift sri steering wheel fit a preface sri? obviously i know the scroll stereo buttons wouldnt work, so if i swap the actual facelift bare wheel over to the preface, will the preface airbag and steering button controls fit the wheel?

If you have a half canbus , then no they are not compatible. It is possible thought to have a facelift steering wheel if you are not bothered about having steering controls. The only other option is to replace CIM and stereo as I did in one of my older threads.

in what way wouldnt it work? can i not just swap my exisitng button controls to the new wheel? i am not looking to use the scroll buttons as i know they are not compatible

cheers for that, so looks like it cant be done. it is a 2005 preface full canbus, but i was hoping i could just change the actual wheel as mine is worn on the leather, and the fit my existing airbag and button stereo buttons onto the new wheel, but looking at that thread the controls are a different shape?

i had a 2005 full canbus sri and i put a vxr wheel on that with no problem

I see, yes the wheel is a different shape underneath too , so not a straight swap.

Can you do that without changing any other module, such as the BCM, or the looms ? I'm talking about going from half-CAN GID (with 32 pins connector present already) + radio ISO plugs to a CID, for instance...

I did it with mine but i needed the full steering wheel ,controls and airbag but the down side is the controls dont work but that didn't put me up or down as i didn't use them anyway but if you do change it and don't change the CIM watch what one you get as the plug to the CIM is different in certain wheels.
