    Default Internet monthly usage.

    Hi guys,

I'm in the process of changing my internet broadband supplier to combine my phone and internet and mainly for cost reasons. I currently have BT for the phone and Demon for the Broadband.

Looking at new providers and their monthly usage limit, say 10GB, is this for just one computer?

Using one of the on-line usage calculators, I reckon on my computer I'm using 3-4 GB a month. I've also got two other people in the house with their own laptops also using the internet through the same wireless router.

Do I have to work out the individual usage for each user, say 3 x 4 GB, and get a package that gives me >12GB or stick with a 10GB package based on just one computer ??

If the limit is 10Gb for the month, its totally irrelivant how many computers use the connection. Be it just one computer of 10, your limit for the month is 10Gb. All the computers, Smartphones etc connect to a single router which then connects to your provider

No idea how folk get by with the likes of a 10-15GB limit these days. I recently moved to Sky and their unlimited package, as I was in danger of bursting my 100GB a month allowance with my previous ISP. I can say hand on heart that I don't download stuff, but with online gaming, iPlayer, youtube, facetime etc, it sure racks up pretty quick.

Yup. Sure does all add up. No other provider will provide me broadband because I clear 100gb per month. I've recently doubled my speed so I'm on 60mb now so ill reach 100gb quicker lol. I'm with VM btw.

Having been with several Broadband providers, I'm now with Virgin Media and can't recommend them highly enough!

I signed up to 100MB Fibre Optic Broadband (recently upgraded to 120MB free of charge by Virgin!)

It's Rapid. Like serious Rapid. Never gives me problems and I use it for everything. Online gaming, downloading movies / games. We have both our Laptops, PS3, TV, and 2 Smartphones connected.

Best of all, there's no Download limits.
