    Default My mornings angry driver

On the drive to work this morning.

Sat at the front of traffic lights.

It went green and I was a slightly slow to pull away.

Next thing I know I have a white van behind me blowing his horn.

Next I see him sticking his middle finger up at me and inches away from my rear bumper.

He carried on going berserk down the road inches away from me.

Well I just had to laugh at him which he saw in my drivers mirror which just sent him over the top,

Back on the horn and right up my jacksy.

I indicated right at the next round about and he went straight on with some more hand gestures.

I parked up and went to the bakery and had a coffee and a large sausage roll and just wondered why people get so angry over virtualy nothing.

    Hmmmmmmm

Probably just annoyed after getting dazzled by the shine off the rear of that Vectra I reckon.

There's a thin veneer of civilisation on people in this country and it doesn't take much to remove it.

This is how you know you are driving in England though - that no matter what the weather, no matter what the time, no matter what the traffic is like, no matter how fast you are going, the car behind you will always be 2 inches off your bumper.

Highway code recommends if someone is driving too close, you slow down. I often do it, dont brake just life your foot off the throttle. I managed to get someone down to 15mph in a 50 zone before they backed off.

I agree. He sounds like a tool. A teeny tiny one at that. ;-) The rest of his day probably was crappy because he sounds like a miserable so-and-so. If that's how you act, that's what you tend to find that you get. I agree about driving in this country too, although it is not only in the UK that you find these individuals. And I too slow down using engine braking if people get too close. And keep slowing down. Isn't life too short to behave like a teeny tiny tool...? Paul

You're better off dealing with these people the way you do - ie let them go. I had a bawbag in a Laguna yesterday sat not more than the width of a midges bits away from my back bumper. I waited until I could get out of his way then pulled in and let him go only to watch him do the same to the next person. Absolute clowns.
