    Default Dissapointing MPG

hi guys n gals, ive had my 2004 2.0t Siggy for about a month now and i love it. the only thing i didnt like was the average mpg reading which was 27.7!! I reset all the readings and hoped it would be alot better with my driving. since having her i have done a full servise and airbox mod. well yesterday i drove to Heathrow Airport to pick my Dad up, its 118 miles away from me, wen i got back i thought i would check the MPG reading as not looked since resetting and it now reads 28.7 MPG!!!
Anybody got any ideas why its so low? i dont drive fast at all just cruise along.

    Thanks

I filled her to the brim before leaving and now have 1/4 tank left!! works out about 300 mile for a full tank!! that = poo (imo(

Cant really help with the reason why, but as a benchmark my Vectra 2.0T would do on average about 32MPG and probably 35 to 37MPG on a motorway run. Hopefully someone can give you some pointers to improve yours.

Totally depends how you drive and what driving 'mix' you have. I had a 2.0T for 4 years and averaged about 25mpg, (350 miles to a tank) and I had a jolly good time lol

Mpg can range from low 20's urban driving to high 30's on a run. Facelifts are slightly more fuel-efficient than pre-facelifts.

I think it about right (no doubt I'll be shot down). I had a 20t volvo s60 and it was doing about that mixed driving.

The mpg on the Vectra 2.0T is not all bad for the type of engine it has. It just loves to be driven properly if you know what I mean.

What rpm does the turbo kick in on the 2.0t, you probably have to drive like a fairy under that to get higher, I'm lucky to get 26 in my 2.2 due to mainly urban and short runs
