    Default miss firing vectra?

has anyone got any ideas as to why my 2007 vectra cdti 150 seems to be missfireing under load in higher gears.there are no faults showing up and my local vauxhall fitter has been through the car with tech 2 and cant seem to find anything.the car did go into vauhall with a wiring fault and a wiped ecu and they have reprogrammed ecu with updated software.has anyone got any ideas?could it be a problem with the mapping on the new program?????any advice would be appreciated.

I would go with a fuel problem. For example, restricted injector nozzle holes are more noticeable at high fuelling conditions. Also if the rail wasn't being charged to the correct pressure quickly enough (HP pump or intake to the HP pump not all that it should be) when you stick your foot down, you would see low fuel delivery, but maybe not a misfire.
As you say you intend to do though, get the live diagnostics and see what it says. Compare against someone who doesn't have the problem if you can.

Cheapest option is to get the live diagnostic done before you do anything if you have a mate than can help out, especially if you can compare it to another car with the same engine but without the fault. I certainly wouldn't suggest changing anything major before looking at what Ant says first, just saying there are a few possibilities within the fuel circuit.

I have a 150ps and could take diagnostic readings when I boot it at 1500rpm in 6th if you like for comparison. Maybe there should be a data section on this site for diagnostic comparisons? Might be handy.
