Had a Court case 2 weeks ago, came to work today to find a letter from the PF. Anyone spot the glaring screw up?

The letter is dated 6 days after the hearing... FAIL......... Ha ha...

They blacked it out before posting?
Its such a waste of public money, I have lost count of the amount of times I have been to court, easily 25+ occasions and every time I have never ever got past the witness room. They either plead guilty or its adjourned, I have had 5 citations for this case now, each times its been adjourned. The system really does need changing.
No, this document is correct and required
The trial was on 15 November, where you were appearing as a witness (cited as witness hence the citation)
You should have phoned the PF the day before or they phone you (if they manage to contact you) to confirm you are not required to attend
If they have been unable to contact you, then a written confirmation must be sent out within 10 working days
This procedure is in place following complaints from the police, whereby witnesses failing to attend had previously confirmed they were not required to attend, and a warrant was then issued for their arrest
I therefore recommend you keep this letter for at least 6 months or until the case is discharged
As discussed before, the legal system is to blame for this
I've been to court numerous times and typical legal advice is to plead not guilty until the trial
Yes, this wastes court time, witness time, and so on
I've even used it a few times defending cases, and it shows what a joke the entire system is
They've designed it like that, so use it...
That was the comment I received from one defence lawyer I spoke to many years ago
Equally, at a recent case the Sherrif refused a change of plea "as this is not in the defendants interest, please adjourn for another intermediate diet"
