    hi eveyone i have just joined, not used to computers so forgive any errors please,

    i have have owned a vectra sxi dti 16v estate 2ltr, was t boned last week, car total loss, want another,but unsure wich is best one, had problems with front springs,but that down to crap roads,some problems with light and engine managment warning on dash, but best car i have ever had, bit scared about erg valves and other issues, looking to spend about 4k . what the most reliable one to look for.

    hi mike welcome to the site and sorry to hear about you being t-boned hope all involved are ok , i personally dont know which is most reliable but the vec is just like any other car regarding faults (they all get them lol) enjoy the site and im sure someone will answer your question soon.

    thanks for the reply, all ok, never buy a merc slk 200, nothing left to repair, crumple zone looks like its the whole of the car!!!!!

    just like to add never use evan halshaw ( main dealer in hull) service very poor.

    u should be able to pick up a 1.8 sri with the vvti engine a superb engine in a superb car,same again not that im biased in any way !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for that money

    Welcome mate u should be able to get a 1.9cdti 150 for that sort of cash ranging from life as basic exclusive bit better but basic Sri sports model (the one I have ) a design and elite ul be pushing abit. The 1.9 are reasonably reliable Egr are nothing to worry about take it off clean it and ul be fine if u can try get a 07 onwards as they have revised a few things on them. I love my 1.9 Sri 150 and I wouldn't even think about looking back even if it had any problems.

    I have a 1.9cdti 120 in my opinion its great less problems than the 150 and faster than the 2.2dti i had
