Condensation on Inside Rear Driver Side Rear Panel

Hi guys,

Today I opened the first aid compartment (thats in the boot drivers side) and looked through the hole where it show the inside metal panel. I touched it and it was wet and what appears to be condensation on the panel (mostly between the fuel pump section and the lights but not on the lights). I checked the passenseger side which was dry.

Would anyone know if condensation is meant to be like this and what could be the cause. I dont have any wet still water patches on the bottom side of boot.


Any advice would be hugly appreciated.

have you checked the spare wheel well for water, can be water coming through from the aerial grommet

Hi Swedge, yes Ive check the spare wheel well and it looks to be dry. the grommet on the ariel look to be well sealed.

not sure where condensation would come from.

When its been raining do you lift your rear wiper up before you open the hatch,i find that if you don't the water off the rear window runs off into the boot,won't take much to dampen the boot carpet especially this time of year

Hi Patch, I dont have wipers on the back. sorry forgot to mention its a Saloon.
