Default phone issue on insignia(navi 600)

I have just been trying to pair my father in laws phone to his insignia but i am having no luck, the manual says there should be a section in settings for the phone but i cant find it,has the phone button on the dash and buttons on the steering wheel.
The dealer told him it had bluetooth but the salesman said he didnt know how it worked!lol typical salesman!
    Cheers

Mines got the dvd800. If you press the config button it will have phone settings in that menu.
Which will then give you the option of pairing a phone to the cars system.
I have no problem pairing normally but it won't pair using the sim system for texts etc, but i think it's my phone not the car.

If there is no bluetooth menu in the config menu then I'd say it hasn't got it.

Sounding like it does not have it i'm afraid. Only think that Vx will do to give you Bluetooth is fit a Parrot or Bury system. They can't fit a factory unit. However, if you do want a factory fit, it is possible. Nice chap called Martyn on the Insignia I-E forum has the skills and expertise to do this - But it does run in at about £300 if i recall correctly.

I was told mine had Bluetooth, then got a call saying it didn't as the salesman couldn't connect his phone. Got a good bit knocked off due to be told it had. Found out a few hours after buying the car that if you actually turn it on in the config menu it works like a charm!

Even the ones with bluetooth have some trouble connecting
you need to back up your phone then do a factory reset
once you have done that reinstal all your data back onto your phone
and make sure your contacts are stored on the phone and not the sim
you should be able to connect no problem now
but if you dont have the phone option in configuration settings then the above is no use to you sorry

Just an update, I told him to moan at the dealers which he did so they sent a company out to fit him a parrot kit free of charge.
He's not 100% happy with it but the only other option was changing his car which meant swapping his plate etc.
The dealers told him to see how he gets on with it and get back to them.
To be fair the dealers have tried their best to resolve the problem which makes a change these days!
