    Default Parrot mki9200

    Hi all,

SWMBO has just bought me the mki9200, so no longer installing the ck3100

Glove box out, all wires connected using the SOT122 auto lead.

Just connected the CD70 back in and all I get on the screen is "External In" and nothing else??

I have used the black switched wire from the cigarette lighter as suggested and I get "goodbye" on the parrot, but the car screen is staying on with this External In.

    Any ideas please?

    Cheers

Scrub that, just found the reason.

There is a short pink wire on the main loom plug at the back of the radio, it was touching the chassis of the radio!! I taped it up, problem solved.... Happy days

lol, it kind of was, but def fun learning!!

Well I've put the glove box together, radio back in.... just tried my iphone to stream music, it comes through ok but the dashboard speaker is still over riding the parrot and playing either the radio, cd etc??

If it's not one thing it's another

Apologies for the delay in my reply...

Not totally sure as I'm not an expert, but pull all the wiring out \nd check to see if you have any exposed wiring that could cause a short.

In regard to my center dash speaker, as I'm no techie, I just unplugged the speaker Problem solved, lol

    Whereabouts are you Biekmass?

Ok, first a little lesson on how the parrot works, The cars 4 speakers all go into the parrot and back out again, and when the parrot is in use it cuts the audio feed from the radio directly and the parrot now has control of the audio. BUT what it cannot control is the centre speaker as that doesnt go through the parrot. What it does do is to have a wire called mute which connects to that pink wire u found and taped up and causes the radio itself to mute ALL the speakers attached to it. So what you need to find is the mute wires coming from the parrot and connect it to the wire you taped up

Just realised this is an older thread but the info may come in handy anyhow
Plasma's Tech2 services are now open and able to provide services

    Handy to know!
    I do not have the intention to hi-jack this thread, but I feel this info/question is a bit related to the original post;
How can the volume on the speakers be adjusted with the volume knob on the CD30mp3 or the scroll wheel on the steering wheel when I'm using the CK3200? I'm able to do that on mine.
i can also use the knob on the MK3200 to adjust volume.
i think both MK3100 and MK3200 is about the same unit, MK3200 just got an color screen.

on my ck3100 I can turn the volume up or down from the ccr2006 or from the steering wheel controls , reason is because when it is wired in behind the glovebox it feeds into the stereo as an external source in & is amplified by the stereo , hence the volume control working .
