Front anti roll bar bush/ braket which is the newest design?

Hi to all

A few weeks ago I had the clutch/flywheel changed, & got the garage to change the anti-roll bar bushes at the same time, thought it was a prudent idea.
As there was potentially four different ones that could have fitted I asked a local vx dealer, & they came back with that it was a single piece bush, but that it could have been 24mm or 25.2 mm.
When I picked up the car, the garage said that when they went to change the bushes the 25.2mm was fitted, but it was a two piece item.
When they asked a vx dealer, they were told that the single one was the right one, as the two pieces one had been superseded by the single one, so it was fittedL.

Any way as you would expect there is a gap between bracket & bush, & I can feel the car rolling around.

I was going to replace the bushes with single type poly bushes, but I’d thought I’d ask a couple of questions first.

Which of the two different types of bushes are the newest designs?
&
....if I got the single type bush, & I got the corresponding bracket to fit it, will that bracket fit?

same boat as you, i aint fully checked yet, there seems to be 2 anti roll bars, then there is the arbs in the how to, and then the two piece arbs not featured in the how to.

me and someone else off here both have 2.2 direct engines, and we were both supplied with 2 piece bushes, but im still not sure if i have been given the right ones by vauxhall.

and as you drive a derv that rules out our guessing that the 2 piece were a 2.2 engine thing.

item 7 and 8 are the two piece.

I saw your post from the other day, and it would seemthat the dealers are unreliable in giving the correct information.
The only way is to find out, is by measuring the bar, and buying the correct sizetwo piece one, and the correct size single piece one, then to get on with changingthe bushes, and see which one will fit.

For myself I now know that the two piece 25.2mm will fit, as I have the rightbar size, but wrong type fitted.
I just want to know if the single piece one supersedes the two piece one, andif the two different brackets that hold them are interchangeable.

cant help you with everything mate, but the brackets are in the link on the parts catologue if thats what your refering to.

Could it be that the original bush is a one piece but that to replace you need two halves to make the job easier ? Sliding the bushes (one piece) over the rusted ARB can't be easy ? Of course my Haynes manual just sayes to replace the whole ARB !!! for 2005 - 2008 cars.

Not done anything like this myself.

nope theres different bushes mate, as the parts catologue information shows.

I had this problem when I was changing them.
I used Vauxhall world parts to get the part number and when I took the old ones off they were the same.
I have 2.2 Direct and I removed a 1 piece bush from all of mine.
Although a year later it still feels wrong. They were difficult to get into this bracket and may have gone wrong when installing but I don't think so.
Some VX dealers still have old parts don't they??

no sure mate, i guess im only going to find out when i remove mine, but i was supplied with 2 peace bushes, i cant really tell just by looking at my arbs on the car whats what lol, but the parts guys at vaux have assured me the ones i have are correct.
