rolleyes hit a lump of concrete

    hi all,

havent been on in some time so for that i must apologise! i now run a VXR estate - yesterday i ran over a rather large lump of concrete on the A1 at about 60mph!

totally knackered my wheel as expected!

does anyone by any chance have a single 18" snowflake wheel available? or even a full set of 19" wheels?

and i apologise if this is in the wrong section/not allowed - i was a full member but it seems to have lapsed..........

    Any help appreciated!

Exact same thing happened to me on the M1 a few years ago. Damage looked EXACTLY like that on the inside edge of the rim. When I first looked I thought the alloy was fine, then I took it off and saw the other side! Doh!

I had a similar experience a few years ago on the M80, damaging one wheel, destroying one tyre, and as I later found out damaging a second tyre
My insurance company paid out for four new wheels, and two tyres, with the excess of £100
They claimed against Bear (the operators of the Motorway) and the case was closed

Think I'd be more concerned about what other damage may have been caused to the suspension or chassis with a wallop like that!

I know! Was an interesting experience! Had the underneath checked as I had to be recovered, made a few marks underneath but thankfully missed anything important- even dented the silencer on its way out!

So I just need 1 wheel! Can I find one!

At the very least I bet the tracking will be out. Have the steering geometry checked once all put back together.
