fiesta 2008 - advice / opinions

hi all,
well i"m in the position to downsize the zafira 1.6 2008 to something a bit smaller.kids gone hence the move.quite fancy a fiesta (newer shape)2008 on - do 40 miles a day - mostly motorway - had anybody any advice/views on which model to get.
if i go onto whatcar they rate the 1.25 16v 82 as the preferred model but will it be man enough to cover my miles ??
any help much appreciated.

I wouldn't own anything smaller then a 1.6 now. After having 2.0/2.2 etc that the small engines are just not upto the job. My Mrs has a 1.4 207 and it's so slow it's dangerous. I think going from a big car to a fiesta would be a bit of a step down too far. What about a 1.6 engine in them? Zetec s ones look nice and have a bit of poke. Must say it's quite surprising how much space they have for a small car. Had one as a hire car when my st went in. Nice little cars I just think a 1.2 is too underpowered.

I have just traded in my Focus ST for 1, a 1.6 Titanium and very impressed with it, pick it up on Saturday, i'll pop some pic's up when i get it, alot of very good reviews for them but must agree with mikep, go for either the 1.4 or 1.6, recommend the 1.6 though 118bhp

I drive a 2009 1.4 tdci fiesta van for work. I do about 50 - 170 miles a day on average making home visits and I like it. Its comfy and pulls well enough to be an easy drive, even with a load of tools up. Does about 400-500 miles on a tank and I don't bother with eco driving, plus a fair bit of urban driving some days.

Why is it a pain? are you having trouble selling or trading in?

I managed to get £6500 for my 07 ST2 with 55k on the clock, alot better than £4700 that the 1st garage offered me

Haha well ive got 2k finance on it and it needs a few bits done, only cosmetic, mechanically its sound but mines a perf blue 07 with 55k lol. Its an st3 aswell so 6500 would do me.

well due to weather conditions down here in the south didnt get round to any garages,but the mrs threw a spanner in the works and said what about a corsa d cdti ?
well they certainly look ok (sxi) and a 90ps 6speed must go quite well. did have a corsa c cdti many years ago and was fine.
so now another car to test drive !!
