    Exclamation Project Family Man

    Hi Guys,
Ok so first of all I'm going to thank you for even reading this post, it's been a long time and it's good to see the forum going strong!

I have a 07 plate vectra, 1.9 CDTi with the nav. She is the 150bmp variant and is running 132 on the wheels. Got 107000 on the clock with DMF done at roughly 100, 000.

I'm looking to get her running faster while keeping comfort for the upcoming family.

So basically are there any users out there running a a setup with similar needs?

Who would you recommend for a remap?
Cone vs panel is the roar really worth it?
Suspension (I don't want it to feel like my arse is being smashed with a cricket bat every bump lol)
I understand the dump is recycled can I more out of that turbo and hear a good hiss?
Tires Safety first!! gotta stop before you can go

I'm looking to spend about a grand in stages but I can't afford a different model. I know this engine gets a lot of $@#! But it's all I've got!

If you made it to the end.... thanks for reading!

The collective input is much appreciated

    Dizzy.

So don't push the remap gotcha

Are we talking a sport CAT or bypass?

What brands would people recommend for filters?

    Vehicle : Vauxhall Vectra Hatch

Trim : SRI with added X-Pack

    Engine : 1.9 16v 150

    Year : 2006

    Mileage : Near 100K

    Default

Airbox mod (the two of them)
    EGR mod and clean it
    clean MAP sensor
    Service it with genuine stuff.
Replace turbo actuator pipes and make sure your car/engine has no faults

Then after that, decat, scorpion turbo elbow and a crd-t tuning box or IDS map (215bhp map)
Wouldnt bother about the clutch at this point,

Next stage is hybrid turbo bigger FMIC and free flow exhaust and another remap and water methanol injection, which may require an updated clutch now.

As far as I'm aware an induction kit or panel filter makes very little difference to a clean genuine filter.

Ben at MASperformance is the man for a remap. Will get you to around the 190bhp mark. Have two done with no issues and running wonderfully. Getting a snitch more on the mpg also.

As for suspension, I'd recommend the bilstein b12 setup as its not too hard to live with day to day.
Would also highly recommend eibach front camber bolts and get it 4 wheel aligned to the vxr setup.

a set of 314/292 rear brakes should be enough for the first tuning setup and a full vxr brake conversion for the last setup.

Tyres? Michelin ps3 on either 17" wheels or 18" wheels in the correct profiles.

Ok this is all brilliant food for thought. So first stage will be the Egr mod , that just failed on me and as I was unavailable the other half got it replaced. Is the mod still necessary or should it be ok with a replacement? I will check other sections in regards to the self help stuff
Is the De-cat mot friendly? I'm running the the legal level clear lights as I heard the HID setup throws a bulb failure message? I'm liking the sound of those springs as it will most definitely be a daily drive!!

I going to be honest I doubt it will be 'race' driven. Just want it to hold its own and put off the Ken Block fiesta fanboys lol
