Default flat spot and flickering headlamps.

    hi guys.
to all who know these 3 common issues on the 1.8 vvt exclusive.
my care is in good nick, 29k on the clock, looks like new. brought it and use it mostly weekends.
problem 1. flickering headlamps, you guys say its the pas pump as its electric and draws heavy current.
problem 2. the well know hesitant pull off, i took out the cone from the air box, brought a new m.a.n filter, but cant say i felt an improvement to be fair.
problem 3. clutch judder, mine is only in reverse, i have to drive like a pensioner to avoid the judder.
im thinking of contacting vauxhal to look at and correct the car for free due to its age. previous owners were pensioners from new so they would never hav spotted these faults, (no offence).
does anyone know if these three main faults are curable at all.
dont be shy with the mechanical terms, im a 28 year veteran on mechanics.
    many thanks

the lights when you say flickering, if this is a small kinda flckering then yes this normal and they all do it, includin mine, not sure on number 2, you could try slightly higher revs with number 3 and see what happens.

Yea the lights flicker when stationary, especially if you touch the steering wheel. The Electrohydraulic power steering on the Vec is very power hungry.

I get occaisional clutch judder on mine. Some days it is there, some days it isn't. If I notice it doing it I just adjust my driving style to avoid it, and it always vanishes when it warms up anyway.

It does say in the manual you should wait 3seconds after pressing the clutch before selecting reverse gear, don't always remember but when I do I don't get any crunch

Could the shorter intake be fitted to the 1.8 F/L and would it really make any difference
