    Lightbulb Fitting Alpine stereo

I bought a wiring adapter from Car Audio Direct and have just hacked the standard cage to allow the new cage in.

When I went to switch the radio on, there was no power.

I then noticed that the ignition love wire on the new adapter didn't plug into the original vauxhall plug.

I called Car Audio Direct and was told that this is normal - the standard radio doesn't have an ignition live as it runs off cambas (or something).

So, I thought I would hook it up to the cig lighter... How do I get behind the cig lighter?

I have undone the two torx screws the left hand side of the panel (passenger footwell), but the panel doesn't seem to want to come off very freely. Am I missing something?

    Vehicle : Insignia Tourer

Open the ash tray lid, lift out the ashtray, stick your hand inside and pull the ashtray assembly vertically out. You can then get under the cigarette lighter (it's the black wire you need to connect to).
