Default CD70, 2006 Signum - How to connect phone for music without Aux-in mod?

    Hi Guys

    I bought a 56 plate 1.9 cdti sigmum elite with CD70 / NAV installed.

I'm gutted that I didn't get a 2007 model with aux-in and thought there would be an easy work around - obviously not after looking at the MOD. I don't really want to remove my unit and post it off to have mods done to it, return back to me then find someone with tech 2 and update the unit.

I've created a couple of MP3 CD's successfully so that's what I use at the moment to listen to my own music. I've used FM transmitters before and don't rate them for sound quality or consistent results.

Sooo, has anyone installed a creative alternative? I could budget around £150 but want to keep my existing CD 70. I can follow instructions and I'm happy to do some leg work.

Could I get a parrot type kit installed and use the bluetooth from my phone to play music?

Hi mate i have installed a unit called IOPLAY its a wicked bit of kit i fitted it myself and believe me if i can do it anyone can lol its a Bluetooth unit connects with every phone ive tried so far and the sound is amazing. If your listing to music from say your iPhone the music stops and it turns into a hands free system. They sell for about £150 i got mine from halfords for £33 but just found a brand new one on ebay starting at £50 hope it helps

If you are on about sending the Headunit to Scotland, then I am sure all the programming (Firmware update and Code Index change) would be done for you.

The only job for you is to fit it all back to your car... so no major technical knowledge needed.

Hi Guys. Thanks for your replies. The Parrot looks very good. Shame it used a separate control but bluetooth music and handsfree calls is pretty good, that's probably my favourite so far - cheers. Sending my unit to Scotland is a possible but I can't see the advert on eBay anymore, it the chap yysnet (spelling) still doing it? I just don't like the idea of being without my unit and trusting the post. I do travel up to Ayrshire every couple of months if he lives anywhere near there. Would be good if anyone has contact details for him.

David, thanks for the heads up on the ioplay. Haven't dismissed that either.

He is in Glasgow somewhere, as I am sure the "shop" name is glasgowboyz or something....

I usually use the search term CD70, and it is usually there somewhere.
Alternatively send him a pm on this forum... By the way... Yes it is Yysnet.
