    Default FK Coilovers suspension problems

i purchased some FK Coilover suspension from a guy on ebay... granted they were like new and the car looks the dogs but i had slight problems when fitting them to the rear of the car.

The cups in which you adjust would not sit on the bottom arm of the car due to the metal top hat design being slightly to big in diameter so i had to put the springs the other way round so that the adjustment is on the top of the spring. This shouldnt be a problem but when i was trying to fit the rubber inside of the cup it wouldnt fit in so i had to cut that part off and just have like a disc of rubber for the adjustment to sit on so it would go over the metal top hat.. Iv got a knocking noise coming from the rear of the car now and im guessing it might be the metal top hat touching the inside of the cup when going over bumps unless its the drop links although i had no issues with knocking before.

Is it possible the drop links are worn? its done 80k miles 05 plate SRI but unsure how i can check rear drop links

What i would like to know is has anyone fitted FK to their vectra and was the adjustment on the top or the bottom or really any coilovers for that matter so i know where they had their adjustments

Also got a clicking from the front but im guessing thats my right hand side top mount as it only happens when i turn and appears to be coming from the top.

    any ideas suggestions welcome. Thanks

after reading some peoples posts on the forum it doesnt seem good for the FK's but i cant exactly stick my old suspension back on since i had a snapped coil on the front with them so i might have to order some new springs and just run the standard suspension struts... just worried about them been a bit old and maybe not been ok for going as low as 45mm all round.

well if yours aint knocking then that must mean they are ok for the job i would prefer not to have to take them back off because there regarded as "rubbish". maybe i should remove that bit of rubber then from the top of the adjustment just didnt really want metal on metal and thought it might absorb some of the road vibration.

I had set mine so that the back wheels are pretty low and pretty much in the arch so i might try raising them a little if yours is ok.

you got a picture of your car with it on the full ride hight?

I have FK's on my 1.6 05 and theyre perfect , no knocking or anything. It was a bit of hassle with the back alright but the adjustments are at the bottom and working fine. Not sure what your problem might be but just letting you know they are decent enough coilovers
