Do a search for LPG mate. I did mine earlier this year - I've posted up loads of info on it.

Search box doesn't do three letters or less for some reason.

My mate has an LPG (His second one) First conversion ******ed his engine during the conversion and he took them to court. Says his current one drives the same in LPG as it does in petrol mode, but he has a right faff on with plugs (LPG appears to be more picky about the plugs)... Oh and no more spare wheel

Vehicle : Vectra C 3.2 Gsi Auto (Zavoli LPG with Flashlube)

Trim : Gsi with loads of "Extras"

    Engine : 3.2 Z32SE (LPG)

    Year : 2004

    Mileage : 131,000

My 3.2 is running LPG and I must say that it's the best move I've ever (made motoring wise). Fuel at half the price of petrol with no noticeable difference in performance. Granted you can opt for the tank that fits in the spare wheel well, but that onle means that my spare is lying loose in the boot. You can also opt for a boot mounted tank but I think that on a hatchback it might prove inconvenient for those moments when you actually need full access to the boot space.

I'm not sure how well your engine lends itself to conversion but there are LPG forums where more information is readily available.

Conversion costs will be somewhere in the region of £1000 (ish) and will leave you with a certificate which enable the DVLA to alter the taxation class.

As pointed out previously, there are a few threads already on this subject but I hope this helps.

    Good luck with it m8.

thanks mate yeah the main reason i was asking on here actually was that i read vectra VXRs didnt take to it well then i wondered if that was a vauxhall trait? mine is only a 1.8 sri though. not worried about losing spare wheel. theres a highly recommended installer in my town so may go visit.

do they still do that start on petrol then switch to gas thing or have they fixed that yet cos it sounds like a faff

any good system will start on petrol and then switch over to LPG. The engine needs to be above 30 degrees for the LPG system to work efficiently. Its fully automatic, so cant see how its a faf? I use my car frequently and if you are worried about the amount of unleaded its going to use, it costs me about £5 every 3 months.
