    Default Help!!!Vectra 05 1.9 SRI CDTI power problem!

    Hello, I'm new on here but I'm wondering if anybody could give me an idea on what could be happening with my car!


    A couple of weeks ago, the car missed slightly every now and again. I wasn't sure if there could be something to do with the fuel so bought some Redex in the hope it might help.


    Anyway, it hasn't! Yesterday my car was missing a lot - it felt for a split second like it had lost power but as quick as it went, it came back. It then also started cutting out sometimes whilst stood still. It wasn't a stall, it just cut out but started up again fine.


    I'm just wondering if anybody else has experienced or known of this and what it could be and how much roughly it could cost to fix?

    All mechanics can't understand what is wrong in car!!!!

    Is the spanner light on?

    Might be worth checking the vac pipes for splits. Check the swirl bar is attached. Remove and clean the EGR and boost sensor. Change the fuel filter.

    I had that happen to me today. I replaced throttle plug and thermostat plug wiring loom for a new one tonight as it kept cutting out, just like you. Found the throttle wiring insulation completely stripped off by heat!

    Check no wirings are in contact with each other and insulation is intact. Check all plugs are properly plugged in.

    Throttle body is about half foot up from thermostat housing. Follow wiring loom. It'll fork out to top of engine. But carry on away from engine to under a block. Thats the throttle body unit.

    Hope you'll find the issue. Report to us ;-)
