What an eejit. Filled up my fuel tank, left my fuel cap on the roof and drove off. Someone stopped me about 500 yards along the road and told me I had left my fuel cap open. By the time I had turned around and drove back to the petrol station it was gone. Does anyone have a spare lying about.

Sorry mate I haven't got a spare - just curious does the car run ok - I lost mine once on a diesel Kia Sedona and it ran like a bag of crap and the EML was on until I got a replacement.

The car runs fine, I got a temporary one at the moment.

By the way it is illegal and dangerous to run any vehicle without a properly fitting fuel cap.
Just in case anyone did not realise.

I done the same thing a few month ago. Left it on top of the boot spoiler & drove off. Got another from the scrap yard for a quid

Aye just like me. In my defence it is the first time in nearly 40 years of driving. Still feel like a tool though.

I have never left my fuel cap on the roof as I always use the holder in the flap .
although I did once leave my mobile phone on the roof & it ended up splattered across all 3 lanes of the M74 , oops not do that again , lol
