    Default Auto dimming mirror

I remember that my rear view mirror used to go a greenish colour when night driving..Im assuming that this means its 'auto dimming'..its not doing it now however. I also have two small spots underneath the mirror, noticable if i put my fingers over them. Have i inadvertantly turned something off??

I don,t think you can turn it off. But there is a green light that shines downwards from the mirror. That is the indirect night lighting.
Does the mirror still "dip" automaticaly when the car behind shines in the mirror??
I have never tried this but how about shining a torch into the mirror and looking at the mirror in your driving position and see if there is any change. I also have never heard of one of these mirros failing, but I might be wrong on that one.

Tried the torch in the mirror and it doesnt seem to change anything..I'll have to go outin full dark and see..Id forgot that when i noticed it,i was being dazzled in the mirror, that it was about 4 in the afternoon and not actually dark but getting close.

One is the little thingy bottom centre of your side of the mirror .... the other is in a recess on the back of the mirror housing, passenger end.
