I set about a few jobs today that i was needing to do...
Did an engine flush and oil/filter change. I change the oil every six months anyway.
Front OS fog was out and i knew it was not a bulb out, so out came the multimeter. I tracked that down to a broken wire, next out came the soldering iron and i was able to rejoin it.
Headlight washers had stopped working, that turned out to be a duff pump which i swapped out with a spare i had lying around.
Second rear fog had never worked from the day i added the extra wire. Seems I had tapped into the wrong wire, somehow i managed to tap into the one that would have fed a trailer or caravan if i had one. So connected to the correct wire and thats now all sorted.
Removed and brushed off the pollen filter and check drain holes.
Removed my Pipercross high flow panel filter to see if it needed a clean. It turned out to be skanky and well overdue a clean. I had a Pipercross cleaning kit in my garage so gave that a thorough clean according to the instructions. Its currently in the dining room drying off much to me wifes annoyance
How many people on here with high flow / performance panel filters have actually cleaned theirs according the manufacturers recommended times? Not many I'll bet..
Finished of with a quicky shampoo and wipe down before the sun went down.
I always enjoy tinkering with the cars but when i have productive afternoon like this it makes we feel quite good, time for a cold tinny..
