Default 2006 2.2 Elite petrol head gasket again!

March 2011 the cam chain jumped and bent a few valves. Had it done at local garage. Less than 10,000 miles later November 2012 the head gasket has gone kaput. No water in top up bottle but plenty of diluted oil. First indication was when low coolant level light came on.
Local garage is concerned as he can't see why it has happened. Apart from it being assembled or torqued down out of sequence the last time. Has anybody any ideas? I do have faith in the garage owner’s abilities but I am a bit jittery about holding on to the car after this but Christmas is coming and the buying of another car is a bit of a worry at the moment.
The garage owner recommends moving the car on when it is repaired.

doesn't the water pump run off the timing chain on these ??
don't know for certain but think it may be possible for the water pump seals to fail & put coolant into the oil .

The mech said the oil and water can't mix this way. If he's wrong and it starts passing water into the oil again can someone let me know how this happens exactly then I can explain.

Its super rare for the head gasket to go on these engines. The Chain is oil fed, and the waterpump is also run off the chain as said, I wouldn't have thought oil could get into the water this way but water into the oil would be possible I believe.
