2003 1.8 sri, which engine oil?

vauxhall 10w 40 semi synthetic is what i used with no probs in my 1.8, did 160k before i sold it two years ago and still going strong, my neighbour still has it.

Vauxhall recommend 5w/30 fully synth long life for all the range of Vec-C engines.

Some use 10w/40 though - mainly people who change their oil more frequently than the recommendated interval.

Mines done 115,000 miles, I used to use the GM 5w30 Dexos 2, but this time I've used Castrol Magantec 5w30 (bought loads when it was on offer at Halfords) and the engine's noticeably quieter.
