Hey folks,
My 2.2 sri petrol has a yellow oil lamp with a spanner through it - is this the service light or is it more sinister?
Thanks,
Luke.

Have you got enough oil in the sump? cheak the oil level.
its the service light as far as i can remember - if it was more sinister it would be the oil light (red one) that is part of the usual array of dash lights.
It's the service light.... if it was the car and spanner it would be the fault light..
It just needs a service and the light re-setting..
Thanks guys it was the service just held the odometer pin in and turned the ignition on all gone now!
Just got to get rid of the cracking noise now from the left rear door area!

what ? so that turns the light off then?
it resets the service indicator..back to the default setting..
what is the odometer pin ,and where is it,has my light is on
odometerpin is the trip button, hold it in with the engine ignition off the oil an spanner will appear, turn the ignition on while still holding it in, it will say what service you need, keep holding till it goes out then turn ignition back off, when you turn it on again there will be no service light thats supposed to be dealer only knowledge lol
