My fuel light came on last night, the computer said 30 miles to go.
Is that a true 30 miles? (obviously depending on mpg)
Also, I believe its a 60 litre tank. How many litres are left when the light comes on?
Thanks chaps

To be honest it varies from one car to another.
if it says 30 miles thatis how much the sensor is detecting , it does ,nt much thats how much fuel is in the car
This question has come up before when people have actually run out of fuel when the sensor has said 25 miles left while in other cases the engine has continued to run long after the sensor has been on 0 , i know it happened to me once
Best bet if the car is showing anywhere the red its time to refuel

As above fill up when in the red zone just to make sure
A few miles after the fuel light has come on, it then starts flashing on and off as a last reminder to hurry up and fill up or you'll run out.
I've never seen my red light come on lol
Don't know as I don't let it go that low
I've ran mine down to 8 miles left showing once. Like others say varies between cars.
Ran mine down to showing 4 km left. Did this due to circumstances (nearest tank was closed so had to drive on to next).
Usually fill up when price is low(ish) so doesn't challenge my luck very often.
Tank is 61 liter, slightly more if you fill to the brim.
mine went to 0 miles left but i drove for another 35 miles after then filled up with 57 litres
Must of done about the same mileage , when i had zero fuel in the car at 1.00 in the morning . stamford to huntingdon via a guided tour of closed garages in and around peterborough
