Thinking about trading the signum in ????

It's been a hassle free car but the v6 is just not fuel efficient enough on the the short journeys we do. But not sure what to get next? the wife wants a vectra again but I have found a fully loaded Peugeot 407 on auto trader that is taking my fancy are there any issues with the peugeot 407 ? It is a 2.0 hid executive

It has a DMF and EGR, read up on Google for 407 problems. I looked at a couple before buying the Vectra and was not impressed, I thought my older 406 was much better made and finished. It is also a smaller car inside then the Vectra.

facelift 2.0t vectra and be done with it, gotta keep her indoors happy.

And there are a million buttons on the dashboard which are cheap and plasticky!

DMF's seem to be the major one, the one on my dads 407 went at 19k. Rattling from front going over bumps etc is bottom ball joints. Silly upside down design allows water to sit inside the cup, but they are pretty easy to change.

I bought a brand new 407 2.2Hdi in 2007 and hated it. Nice looking car on the outside but very cheap and flimsy feeling inside. Sold it after 9 months and took a £9.5k hit - replaced it with a Vectra SRI (cdti 120) and loved it. Nowhere near as many toys as the 407, and nowhere near as powerful (407 2.2Hdi was a twin turbo),but much more solid feeling inside.

Short journeys might cause problems with the DPF regen not kicking in too; in itself, the cost of forced regens is likely to outweigh the fuel savings.

you can get the dpf sorted, just get it taken out, but its a pain in the ass untill you do, half the time it doesnt regenerate, you have to keep a constant eye on it....peugeot 607 (2.2 hdi) i had, has happy to be shot of tbh
