Default How to replace the radiatior (2.0 DTI)

Is it possible to replace a Vectra radiator without jacking the car up?

Basically, the car has front end damage, so the front bumper & bumper reinforcement bar will be removed and replaced anyway. So can it be done from there?

Your help would be much appreciated.

Edit: Should point out, it's a pre-facelift version.

Yes. But intercooler radiator will need to be moved, air con rad moved then water rad is located there or are you replacing all 3?

    Bumper off,
    Bumper support bar off,
Rads all accessible from there on!

Photos please. Helps us see damage and help you further, also see your progress.

Thank you very much for that.
I do intend to take pics when I get round to it, probably on Monday. I just wanted confirmation that it is possible. Taking the intercooler and air con rad, is that just a simple undo the bolts job?

I'm just doing the water radiator.

Yeah, and disconnecting hoses. Take care with intercooler hoses, undo both ends of the hose and twist it outwards so its save. The water rad will have plastic intercooler hose tube mounted on the rear of water rad. So look behind on the right (on battery side) and disconnect hose from top. Then u have an easy disconnection. Air con pipes are bolted, if its full of working air con, take care as pressure will spray green stuff,

This is from knowledge of facelift z19dth 1.9 150. Might vary of other models but can only guess it'll be a bit of likelihood it'll be similar.

Get HIDs while u doing it. Fit ballast in place under headlight behind bumper. Perfect area to keep it cool. And protected

My bumper is currently f***** so I'm getting a new one. One of my fog lights is gone as well, so I'll be replacing that.

I've taken off the bumper and the bumper bar now and the water radiator is the first one facing you so surely I wouldnt have to remove the intercooler radiator?
