V5 query, buying a car for the missus.

Hi guys, I'm after some advice, I'm looking to buy a car for the missus (private second hand sale) and she won't be able to come along due to work commitments so she wont be able to fill out the V5.

Where does this leave me with regards to filling out the V5 but getting the car in her name..? I'm guessing I will need to fill out my details and then when the V5 comes through fill it out with the missus' details which will add another previous driver?

Ideally I want to avoid adding extra drivers!

Any advice welcome.

you can put your wifes detials down as i did for my partners car

Am 20 years old and I've been buying cars since 14. Every single one I've bought under my mums name and gave my own signature. Nothing ever happened lol. Good Luck mate

so who signs it then, surely it needs her signature at the bottom?

put her details as registered keeper and you sign it off.

Only becomes a problem if you "sign" someone else's name/signature. Using her details but your sig is fine
