    Default Timing belt/waterpump.

Just to confirm before i get the work started on my car.

    I have a 2007 1.8vvt petrol, engine code z18xer.

The water pump is NOT driven off the timing belt, is this correct?

Save me getting the water pump done.

    Cheers

Are you changing the timing belt on the car? If you are, then it would seem like a false economy to strip it down that far and not do the waterpump at the same time, regardless of whether it is driven by the timing belt or not.

Be interested to see a "how to" for this, as have been contemplating doing my own. Interested to know if you need a camshaft locking tool to do the job, and also anything else you would typically replace, i.e. the bottom pulley bolt or anything?
