    Default Egr blanking

    just had new manifold fitted and now going to blank off egr do you unplugg the egr when you have blanked also some say blank one end some say both ends ???

    No, leave it plugged in, just blank the exhaust inlet side (small oval gasket).

    I have my EGR electrically disconnected. This will bring on the eml light but if you can live with that, as I do, then it should be the same as totally blanking (assuming the valve is defaulted fully closed - which mine is). Just re-connect prior to MOT day. To me, this is the simplest method.

    why do people black it off whats is the reason for doing this

    Why not get it mapped off and blanked? It can actually still leak.

    Stops the manifold sooting up. Well worth it.
