Default new member & sons Vectra C

Hey all, here's my sons Vectra 1.8 Sri
Personally I think she's a real beauty in Silver, a 57 plate with only 42k miles on the clock, full service history, immaculate interior, unmarked alloys, 4 practically brand new tyres, 1 years Mot, 6 months tax and 3 months warranty...........pretty sweet deal for not too many pennies.

I know it may not be that big a deal to most of you, but he's 19 and coming from an 02 plate 1.2 Renault Clio, so quite a jump for him.....lol

We spent around 4 hours or so and cleaned it to our standards. The wheels were treated with Sonax full effect wheel cleaner and brought them back like new, tyres blacked to finish off the look.
Washed thoroughly from top to bottom and into every single crevice and nook & cranny to remove all dirt / dust / grime....the door shuts, boot area and engine bay all detailed.

Add a few £££ for Sri car mats, Vauxhall tax disc holder, tyre valve caps, new wiper blades front n rear, an additional SRi badge for the rear and some chrome sill SRi cover plates and she's lookin pretty good.

Thanks for reading and I hope I can pick up some pretty useful info here for preventative maintenance and also to help cure any issues as they arise..

Well, spent a few hours on her today with no 1 son and we gave her the basics, including new spark plugs, air filter and pollen filter.
I still need to research the fuel filter location and how to change.

The oil / filter change will be getting done tomorrow by the garage as they can do it as cheap as i can buy it and saves a lot of hassle.

After we finished that side of things, it was off with the alloys and the hubs n calipers were wire brushed then painted a nice stock silver, using hammerite smooth.

Whilst the wheels were off they were cleaned thoroughly using Sonax full strength wheel cleaner, then put back on the car.........

All good and she runs a little livelier too after

Hope to learn new & useful info from what looks like a great site.
    Thanks

Its clipped to the fuel tank, just underneath the passenger door. Its a tricky thing to changed, those clips can be a nightmare. If your getting the oil change done just get them to do the filter while they are at it. Id mark it first though

Welcome to the forum btw, tidy looking vec your son has.
