Default Can't get bumper reinforcement bar off! Help!

    Hi all,

    Firstly apologies, not photo's included.

Basically, I'm trying to take this bar off to sort out some crash damage. I've taken all the bolts off but the bar still won't budge. I then discovered a smaller nut around a outwards facing screw. I attached the socket (1/4 drive) and it's too small for it. A spanner won't fit because there isn't enough space.

How can I get it off?

My socket is too small, which got me thinking. Can I purchase one of these? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Facom-FCMR10.../dp/B0051A9Z1E

Deep socket drive, so it's longer basically.

Has anyone else got any advice, or tips related to taking the bar off?

Deep socket will do the trick mate but that's one of the most expensive ones i've seen

Here's a better priced one although you'd probably be best off nipping to halfords as they should have one for this sort of price.....you may be just as well buying a set of deep sockets

Right, I've ordered a set of deep sockets. £6.50 on Amazon. Had a positive review and cheaper than buying tthem individually.

If you cannot work out how to get the bolt out I would suggest you are not capable of repairing a crash damaged car. Why no pictures?
Lois Griffin: Peter! You're bribing your daughter with a car?
Peter Griffin: Ah, c'mon, Lois, isn't 'bribe' just another word for 'love'?

Not exactly helping, but it's minor damage, just requires new bar and radiator.
No pictures because the car is parked somewhere else, and I forgot to take pictures when I was with it.
