Default Where do I stand on this?

I was going to work this morning when a tipper truck pulled out in front of me, as it accelerated up the road my car got pebble dashed, with mud and stones. I was fuming took their numberplate and photos when I arrived at work. There was no damage as I could see but as I wiped off some mud it left a huge scratch on the bonnet. Now going to clean the car to seeif there is any more damage. What would you do? Contact insurance?

I would give the company a call .... but dont think you should of typed that you wiped the mud off and found a huge scratch, makes it sound like you scratched it by wiping instead of jet washing or even hosing .

I did think as I done it, i just didn't have time and I didn't want it all to dry on the bonnet.

Just make a complaint and make them aware you will be claiming. It is an offence to have an insecure load so lay it on thick with them. However a wee lesson to be learned in future to sit back further

Sorry I don't think you've a leg to stand on, as you've actually caused the scratch by wiping the mud off the car.

the insecure load angle wont work as its been thrown up by the wheels.

if its a building site or similar then, see what they say if your not happy then make a complaint to the local highways dept of the local authority and contact the CAB
