    Talking Two Stroke Oil - 1st Post, be nice :) 3.0cdti V6

Hello all, great forum and picked up a lot of advice so thank you and thought I would share my pennies worth.

Just wanted to say first of all my 3.0 cdti was a little clackety in the morning as all diesels are. I've only had her two weeks.

However, after my first try with two stroke oil (Halfords cheap stuff) - Sainsburys offer 1ltr for £3.99 btw. The difference was virtually immediate.

I could hear the engine note change literally after about 2 miles coming back from the fill up. I put in 300ml to a full tank (60ltrs).

Since then, it definitely picks up speed smoother. Has helped with the idle while in D stopped at lights. (erratic idling surging up and down by 100rpm or so)

I know this has been posted before but...you know when you feel really chuffed by trying something...and you just want to tell someone...well this is it.

Next on the list will be a full service and clean/blank the egr, auto box fluid and filter change.

PS: Has anyone serviced the autobox on the 3.0 cdti?

Hi, and thank you for your post, I have been uhmming and ahhing about whether to try two stroke in my 3.0v6 cdti, wasn't sure because of the DPF. When I initially got mine a couple of months ago, I had a few problems with it, misfiring at idle for one. but that seems to have stopped now after having driven it lots. I have used BG244 in the fuel, and ZX1 in the oil, not sure if these are to thank for it now running smoother. as I didn't notice any difference in the car till on the 3rd tank, now only use BP. So I think I will now use the 2 stroke as a preventative measure.
Again thank you, for sharing your findings
