Default Dull paint finish on CC chrome V

    Hi,

Ive just sprayed my chrome V and not happy with the paint finish, alot of areas are really dull even after polishing up.

I primed, wet sanded, painted, lacquered, ive just wet sanded with 2500 grit and used halfords rubbing compound then several coats of SRP but still dull in areas.

Any suggestions? Resand with 2500 and compound again? Pics below

Remove all traces of polish and re-laquer it again in a warm environment to prevent it blooming in this cold spell, then wet sand by hand and use a cutting polish to bring out the shine after a few days curing time. Do it too soon and it rips the finish up Go on ask me how I found that out!

As above, you can have the worse finish possible and as long as you've put the lacquer on thick enough and no problem within that layer it will come up...

looks like its not had enough time to harden give it a good few days (even more so this time of year) and then try polishing again.

Ill re-lacquer and resand and polish, failing that ill beg the help of someone with a da!

I left it a week for the lacquer to harden before sanding so unsure what went wrong!

    Cheers for the advice
